Is GrimSlate free to use?
Yes! GrimSlate is currently free to use with no hidden costs. We may introduce optional premium features in the future, but the core army building functionality will always remain accessible.
Where does the data come from?
All game data is sourced from the community-maintained BSData project (github.com/BSData/wh40k-10e). The data is kept up-to-date by dedicated volunteers from the Warhammer community.
Do I need to create an account?
No account is required to use the app! Your army lists are saved locally in your browser. However, creating a free account unlocks cloud sync, favorite units (save up to 50!), public roster sharing, and a personal profile page - perfect for sharing your lists or getting feedback from the community.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes! Once loaded, GrimSlate works entirely offline. Perfect for gaming stores or tournaments with spotty WiFi.
Is this official?
No. GrimSlate is an unofficial fan project. Warhammer 40,000 and all related marks are trademarks of Games Workshop Ltd. This tool is not endorsed by Games Workshop.
